Just Look At That!

Matthew 6:1

Have you ever been noticed for a good deed?  Perhaps a friend, neighbor or relative let you know how much they appreciated your hard work.  A person that you work with celebrates your birthday and brings you a cake.  How about a hug from your child just because, or the Pastor says a big thank you for all your help.

You feel great when someone recognizes you.  I’ve always said you go through this to get that, but it feels great when you’re praised because you went through the this to get that a “Praise”.  You feel special, valued, and appreciated when your praised.

There are many who do a lot of good deeds or you may say works but many do it for the wrong reason.  They love to hear the words, “we can’t do it without you.”  They do it just to hear you’re the best!  The only reason is they want others to know just look at what I’ve done…

But there’s nothing like doing the task that is given to you for all the right

Reasons – the praise of being a child of God.

Jesus shocks those around Him when he says, “you’re just doing to get applause from others.  You’re not doing it for a blessing as unto Me.  Just look at that!  Now that’s a statement.  Never does he say that you shouldn’t appreciate others.  You do many tasks but you do it with a clean heart.  Not for a praise but just because.  He said do it quietly do it to bless someone not for a love a me kind of thing.  God tells us we will get a reward but it will be in His time not our time.

When you do your task do it just for the feeling that you get and when someone notices that you’ve completed the task and acknowledges it you thank then as well.  Focus on the task not on what you’ll get.  So help the neighbor, friend or relative with the task at hand.  I’m sure your reward will be great in God’s timing you just wait and see.

This week be Larger Than Life

  1. Remember = Galatians 6:4
  2. To Do = Write down some task that you could be a blessing in and don’t just write, but do them.
  3. Promise = I will promise even if I don’t get noticed, I will do it anyway – “Just Because.”
